 The South Salem Saxons will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the McNary Celtics at 5:00  p.m. South Salem will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak  alive.
 On Wednesday, South Salem beat McNary 7-4. That's two games straight that South Salem has won by  exactly three  runs.
  Carter Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those seven  innings set a new season-high mark for him.
 At the plate,  Noah Scharer was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  runs and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Teagan Scott, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 South Salem's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for McNary,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 9-8.
