Softball Recap: Heights Drops Highest Score of Season Against Wisdom

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Heights brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wisdom Generals an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sara Paniagua was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Helen Maddux was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Flora Moreno was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Heights' win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Coming up, Heights will venture away from home to challenge Cesar E. Chavez at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wisdom, they will welcome Houston Math Science & Tech at 6:00 p.m. on March 6th.
