Softball Recap: Schaumburg Comes Up Short

The Schaumburg Saxons didn't have quite enough to beat the New Trier Trevians on Saturday and fell 5-4. The Saxons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Schaumburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Dolecki, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Victoria Villegas was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Schaumburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for New Trier, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Coming up, Schaumburg will challenge Glenbard North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Saxons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Trier, they will face off against Loyola Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ramblers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Trevians surely won't give up without a fight.
