Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) is ranked No. 1 in the country but it wasn't that program that produced the most offensive fireworks Friday.

Bishop Gorman (Tyler, Texas) had over 1,000 yards of offense in a 91-71 win over Ore City in a game that featured a state-record 10 touchdown passes from sophomore quarterback Jake Smith, tying the state record of Travis Quintanilla of Refugio. He completed 30 of 44 passes for 693 yards.

The yardage total ranks No. 3 all-time in state history, according to Texas High School Football History, behind Mike Richardson of Marble Falls, who had 724 in 2012, and Quintanilla, who had 712 in 2013.

Bishop Gorman receiver Judah Bell caught 16 passes for 376 yards and five touchdowns. His yardage total ranks No. 7 all-time in Texas state history. Fellow receiver Tyler Hobbs caught 10 passes for 272 yards and five receptions.

Bishop Gorman had over 1,000 yards of offense (no official total was listed) with running back Ethan Milton adding 210 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries.

For Ore City, quarterback Cartea Douglas completed 21 of 34 passes for 362 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for 99 yards and four scores.

Bishop Gorman has now played in two of the highest-scoring games in state history. Last year, the Crusaders fell to Lutheran South Academy 83-68 in the TAPPS Division II playoffs.
