Basketball Game Preview: Bushland Falcons vs. Sudan Hornets

The Bushland Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Sudan Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Bushland came up short against Clovis and fell 54-44. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 509th in Texas, while the Wildcats are ranked third in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Sudan came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Loboes to the tune of 70-24. The game marked the Hornets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Sudan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Bushland, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Bushland strolled past Sudan when the teams last played back in December of 2014 by a score of 48-29. Will Bushland repeat their success, or does Sudan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
