Preview: Robichaud Bulldogs vs. Thurston Eagles
Robichaud and Thurston are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Robichaud Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Thurston Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Robichaud has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Robichaud can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 78-48 win over Garden City on the road. Given Robichaud's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Garden City is ranked 683rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thurston posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They breezed by Melvindale at home to the tune of 78-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Thurston.
Robichaud's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Thurston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Robichaud strolled past Thurston when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 68-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Robichaud since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
