Football Recap: Pattonsburg Panthers vs. Stanberry Bulldogs

Pattonsburg's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by the Stanberry Bulldogs at home to the tune of 58-22. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Camden Griffith was his usual excellent self, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making ten total tackles. Landon Preston was another key player, gaining 109 total yards and three touchdowns.

Pattonsburg's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Bryson Clark and Collin Mason who racked up four sacks between them. Mason also set a new season high mark in total tackles with four. Another thorn in Stanberry's side was Jace Estrada, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Although Stanberry took the loss, they still got scores from Cooper Adcock, Colby Mcqueen, and Decker Heyde.

Pattonsburg's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Stanberry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Pattonsburg will venture away from home to face off against King City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanberry, they will take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Stanberry likes a good challenge.
