Softball Recap: La Jolla Has No Trouble Against Kearny

La Jolla lost to Kearny back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Komets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

La Jolla got a massive performance out of Jerri Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Roxanne Metcalf was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

La Jolla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive games.

La Jolla's record is now 7-12. As for Kearny, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

La Jolla has already played their next contest, a 13-4 win against High Tech SD on the 7th. As for Kearny, they will head out to face off against Hoover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Komets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
