Football Recap: Placer Comes Up Short on the Road Against Casa Roble

Placer had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 46-30 to the Casa Roble Rams. The Hillmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Loss or not, Placer got some senior leadership from Shaun Jones and Danny Sanchez-Harlow. Jones rushed for 137 yards, while Sanchez-Harlow rushed for 109 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Casa Roble to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylan Barcenas, who picked up 38 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 107 yards on only 13 carries. Barcenas really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Aidan Lopez was another key signal caller, throwing for 303 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt.

Coming up, Placer will square off against Laguna Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Casa Roble, they will take on Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
