Game recap: Cowsert's five passing touchdowns lead Watervliet past Hartford

Watervliet (Mich.) bested Hartford (Mich.) 41-29 while riding the arm of Jake Cowsert, who tossed five touchdown passes.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Cowsert to Travis Bolin in the first quarter, the Panthers led 28-9 at the half.

Watervliet saw its 19-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.

The Indians' Luke Traver played well. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.

WHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 28-14.



The loss snapped Hartford's 3-game winning streak. With the win the Panthers extended their winning streak to four games.

Hartford (3-1) goes up against Lawton in a Southwestern - South game matchup next week, while Watervliet (4-0) locks horns with Marcellus also in a Southwestern - South game.
