Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Valley Barons vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

Fountain Valley is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Los Alamitos is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Fountain Valley Barons will host the Los Alamitos Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Fountain Valley didn't have too much trouble with Huntington Beach as they won 52-38. Given the Barons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Oilers are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Los Alamitos' way against Marina on Friday as Los Alamitos made off with a 56-36 victory. The Griffins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Fountain Valley's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Los Alamitos, they are also on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
