Softball Recap: Kountze Takes a Loss

Kountze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hardin Hornets. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Kountze saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Latino, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Kountze's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Hardin, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kountze will face off against Anahuac at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Hardin, they will challenge Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
