Softball Game Preview: West Central Blue Devils vs. Clayton-Ridge Eagles

West Central and Clayton-Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2016, but likely not for long. The Blue Devils will head out to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Central has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Clayton-Ridge will arrive with six straight wins.

On Wednesday, West Central came up short against South Winneshiek and fell 9-4.

Meanwhile, while Clayton-Ridge put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for MFL MarMac. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

West Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Clayton-Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

West Central suffered a grim 19-3 defeat to Clayton-Ridge in their previous matchup back in June of 2023. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
