Basketball Recap: Fork Union Military Academy Comes Up Short

Fork Union Military Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-41 loss at the hands of the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Norfolk Christian was led to victory by Landon McNamara and Connor Holmes. McNamara posted 17 points, while Holmes put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Holmes is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christian Hines, who had nine points and six boards.

Fork Union Military Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Norfolk Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fork Union Military Academy will host Cape Henry Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cape Henry Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Fork Union Military Academy likes a good challenge. As for Norfolk Christian, they will welcome Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norfolk Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67 points per game this season.
