Volleyball Recap: Appleton North Comes Up Short

Appleton North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Green Bay Preble Hornets. The Lightning were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Appleton North actually scored more points across those five sets (104-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 16-25, 26-24, 15-8.

Appleton North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-34. As for Green Bay Preble, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-16.

Appleton North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green Bay Preble, they will square off against Bay Port on Saturday.
