Volleyball Recap: Aragon Comes Up Short

Aragon was the 3-2 winner over Monterey when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Aragon fell 3-1 to Monterey on Tuesday.

Aragon couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Monterey a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 29-31, 25-21, 25-17.

Jasper Caffo paced Aragon's offense, picking up ten kills. Caffo got some help from Santiago Smirnoff and his 20 assists. Smirnoff was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Aragon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Monterey, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Coming up, Aragon will challenge Burlingame at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monterey, they will square off against Leigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
