Volleyball Recap: Eau Claire Memorial Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Eau Claire Memorial was the 3-1 winner over Chippewa Falls when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Old Abes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-29, 25-19, 25-23.

Kaylee Gunderson paced Eau Claire Memorial's offense, picking up 13 kills. Gunderson got some help from Addison Schroeder and her 18 assists. Gunderson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chippewa Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ilah Sinz, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Sinz has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Brynn Von Haden, who had 12 digs and three assists.

Eau Claire Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Chippewa Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Eau Claire Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Stevens Point on the 6th. As for Chippewa Falls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Regis on the 6th.
