Baseball Recap: Loris Triumphs

Loris won the last time they faced Aynor and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Loris Lions walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Aynor Blue Jackets.

Aiden Suggs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Loris' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Suggs was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ethan Hardee and Jackson Huff did most of the damage at the plate: Hardee scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Huff scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Huff a new career-high in RBI (three).

Loris now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Aynor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loris will venture away from home to take on Mullins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loris is facing Mullins at the right time seeing as Mullins is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Aynor, they will head out on the road to square off against Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
