Basketball Recap: Medina Comes Up Short

If Medina was feeling good fresh off their 76-23 takedown of Shaker Heights last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Medina Battling Bees lost to the Strongsville Mustangs at home by a 78-59 margin on Saturday. The match was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but the Battling Bees couldn't quite close it out.

Medina's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Strongsville, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Medina will be playing at home against Mentor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Medina knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Mentor likes a good challenge. As for Strongsville, they will challenge Cleveland Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Strongsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
