For the first time this season, Lincoln will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Bravo Knights at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Lincoln didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Bell on Wednesday.
Mel Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Gladys Barajas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Rubie Morales also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bravo started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Arleta. They fell 8-3 to the Mustangs on Wednesday. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
Savannah Durazo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Katherine Nungaray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Lincoln's record is now 5-2. As for Bravo, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .428. However, it's not like Bravo struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln suffered a grim 19-9 defeat to Bravo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
