Volleyball Recap: Dewey Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dewey waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Caney Valley Bullpups. This was payback for the Bulldoggers, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory didn't come easy: Caney Valley scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Caney Valley lost, don't look at Lauryn Davidson. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and three aces. Davidson has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played. Toran Firebaugh also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Dewey's win bumped their record up to 9-2-2. As for Caney Valley, their defeat ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

Dewey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Sequoyah on the 25th. As for Caney Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sedan on the 25th.
