Baseball Recap: Beallsville Comes Up Short

Beallsville had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-18 to make it six. They lost 21-1 to the Frontier Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

As for Frontier, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-7. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

For Frontier's part, Austin Kephart was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those five hits gave Kephart a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Powers, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

While Beallsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
