Soccer Game Preview: Dr. Phillips vs. Innovation

The Dr. Phillips Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Innovation Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average, (Dr. Phillips: 0.5, Innovation: 0.2) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Dr. Phillips is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ocoee just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Audrey Wassendorf, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Innovation put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand East River a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Innovation's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those four contests. As for Dr. Phillips, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.
