Volleyball Recap: Mineral Wells Takes a Loss

Mineral Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Brownwood Lions. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19.

Jaylee Newman paced Mineral Wells' offense, picking up 14 kills. Newman got some help from Rylan Tarver and her 18 assists. Kaylee Gray and Audrey Hudson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Mineral Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 10-19-1. As for Brownwood, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Mineral Wells has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Graham on the 7th. As for Brownwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Stephenville on the 7th.
