Basketball Recap: Pikes Peak Christian Eagles vs. Fountain Valley Danes

In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fountain Valley with a sharp 41-19 victory. 41 seems to be a good number for Pikes Peak Christian as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Sarah Harris was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Harris is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Thomas, who scored ten points along with seven steals.

Fountain Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Asha Monroe, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Quin Lewis, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fountain Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pikes Peak Christian racked up 14 assists.

Pikes Peak Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Fountain Valley, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7.

Pikes Peak Christian will take on the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kiowa is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Fountain Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Elbert is ranked 265th, while the Danes are ranked 275th).
