Softball Game Preview: Animo South Los Angeles Panthers vs. Animo Robinson Monarchs

The Animo South Los Angeles Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Animo Robinson Monarchs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Animo South Los Angeles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Animo South Los Angeles barely beat Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 22-11 win on Thursday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Animo Robinson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Animo Watts 17-11 on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Monarchs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Animo South Los Angeles' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Animo Robinson, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

Everything went Animo South Los Angeles' way against Animo Robinson in their previous matchup back in March, as Animo South Los Angeles made off with a 16-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
