Basketball Recap: Howell Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Jackson

On Thursday, Howell faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Howell Vikings fell 54-46 to the Jackson Fighting Indians. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Howell's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3. As for Jackson, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howell has already played their next matchup (against Troy-Buchanan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jackson will challenge Doniphan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
