Basketball Recap: Jaydn Mcneely's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Splendora over Kingwood Park

It was a proper cat-fight when Splendora took on Kingwood Park on Friday. The Splendora Wildcats took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingwood Park Panthers. The Wildcats lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-25 score last time.

Splendora lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaydn McNeely, who posted 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals. McNeely has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tramaine Jackson, who had 13 points and five assists.

Splendora dropped their record down to 12-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kingwood Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pasadena the next time they take the court. Splendora will head out to face Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kingwood Park will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
