Volleyball Recap: Cumberland Academy Comes Up Short

The Cumberland Academy Knights came up short against the Beckville Bearcats on Thursday and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-16.

Beckville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kellen Weaver led the charge by getting 12 kills. Weaver is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Beckville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Cumberland Academy has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Carlisle on the 23rd. As for Beckville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Shelbyville on the 23rd.
