Football Recap: Freeman Falls Short of Okanogan in the Playoffs

Freeman and Okanogan squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Freeman had to settle for second. They took a 36-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Okanogan Bulldogs. The Scotties' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Freeman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vance Coyner, who picked up 195 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Coyner was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Schultz, who threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns.

It was another big night for Carter Kuchenbuch, who rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry for Okanogan. The dominant performance gave Kuchenbuch a new career-high in rushing yards. David Huffstetler was another key player, rushing for 154 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

Freeman's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Okanogan, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Freeman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Okanogan has also already played their next game, a 52-21 win against Napavine on the 7th.
