Softball Game Preview: DuBois Beavers vs. Clearfield Bison

The DuBois Beavers are taking a road trip to square off against the Clearfield Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. DuBois will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

DuBois is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Bradford with a sharp 20-5 victory on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2024, but that streak is no more.

The team relied heavily on Abby Kalgren, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brielle Gray, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

DuBois was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Clearfield's offense. They fell 3-0 to Tyrone on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bison's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

DuBois' win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Clearfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Everything went DuBois' way against Clearfield when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as DuBois made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
