Basketball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Boardman Spartans

The Avon Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Boardman Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Avon came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by St. Ignatius and fell 87-54. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Boardman came up short against Green on Friday, falling 61-39. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 416th).

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Boardman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
