Softball Game Preview: Glenbrook South Titans vs. Maine West Warriors

The Glenbrook South Titans will square off against the Maine West Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Glenbrook South is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Elk Grove.

Lauren Nicgorski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Maine West took care of business in their home opener (and then some) two weeks ago. They never let Wheeling get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

ABIGAYLE GARCIA was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was KARA LINDENMUTH, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Maine West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheeling only posted an OBP of .211.

Glenbrook South suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Maine West in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Glenbrook South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
