Baseball Recap: Rockwall-Heath Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magnolia Heights, Rockwall-Heath was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Westlake Chaparrals.

Mick Randle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Hunter Bulin and Nate Cisneros did most of the damage at the plate: Bulin went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while Cisneros got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Bulin has hit this season. Jordin Barham was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Rockwall-Heath has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Westlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Rockwall-Heath will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Carlsbad at 10:00 a.m. As for Westlake, they will take on Grapevine at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
