Softball Recap: Plainfield East Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Plainfield East finally came back down to earth on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Yorkville Foxes. The defeat continues a trend for the Bengals in their meetings with the Foxes: they've now lost seven in a row.

Plainfield East's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-8. As for Yorkville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Plainfield East will square off against rival Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yorkville is set to take on their familiar foe Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
