Recap: Munroe Bobcats vs. Maclay Marauders
There's no place like home for the Munroe Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 44-20 margin over Maclay. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Munroe has posted since December 11, 2023.
Traniha Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew for Munroe as she scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jackson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nala Copeland, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Maclay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Journey Kramer, who scored nine points.
Munroe's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Maclay, they dropped their record down to 13-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Munroe will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Johns Country Day at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully St. Johns Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Maclay, Maclay and St. John Paul II will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
