Bishop suffered their biggest defeat since October 31, 2024 on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the La Jolla Country Day Torreys. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Bishop's was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made La Jolla Country Day work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-24, 25-19.

La Jolla Country Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alice Burgett, who hit 71.4% for five kills and five digs and four aces. Burgett has been hot, having also posted 17 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Bishop's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 18-6. As for La Jolla Country Day, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-8.

Coincidentally, Bishop's and La Jolla Country Day will both be playing Santa Fe Christian the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Torreys will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
