There's no place like home for Avoca Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Hammondsport Lakers with a sharp 16-2 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Tigers have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Avoca Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hammondsport, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avoca Central will challenge Keshequa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hammondsport, they will host Genesee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
