Baseball Game Preview: Somerset Bulldogs vs. Pearsall Mavericks

Somerset has gone 8-2 against Pearsall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Somerset and 13 for Pearsall.

Medina Valley hit Somerset with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 9-3 to the Panthers.

Somerset saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eleazar Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Hernandez has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 10-15 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Pearsall came up short against Devine on Tuesday, falling 13-2.

Somerset took their win against Pearsall in their previous matchup on April 1st by a conclusive 13-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
