Baseball Game Preview: Downtown Doral Dolphins vs. Goleman Gators

The Downtown Doral Dolphins will face off against the Goleman Gators at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Downtown Doral has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Downtown Doral fell victim to Coral Shores and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 11-0. The Dolphins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Downtown Doral saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fernando Quinones, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Goleman fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Schoolhouse Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 8-7. The Gators' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Ryan Godinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Kharu Hunter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.

Goleman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Downtown Doral, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
