Volleyball Recap: Etta Dezio's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Enka over Pisgah

Enka was the 3-0 winner over Pisgah when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jets fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Jets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Enka started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-11.

Enka lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Etta Dezio, who had nine digs, eight kills, and five aces. Kerigan Phillips was another key player, getting 25 digs.

Enka now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Pisgah, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Enka will be playing at home against Owen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pisgah, they will head out to face off against T.C. Roberson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
