Basketball Game Preview: Konos Academy Condor vs. Community Christian Knights + Official Tickets

Konos Academy is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Community Christian a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:30 p.m. Konos Academy has given up an average of 72.9 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Konos Academy is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Springwood last Tuesday. The Condor took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 69-41. While the Condor didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 15-9 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Callum Franke, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Gaines Casey, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Community Christian's strategy against Abundant Life Christian Academy last Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Knights blew the Lions out of the water with a 78-40 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Knights had established a 35-point advantage.

Community Christian's win came from a few key players Konos Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zion Johnson, who earned 23 points and seven boards. Eric Bethea was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Community Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Konos Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Konos Academy against Community Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as the squad secured a 79-31 win. Will the Condor repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
