Preview: W D Mohammed Caliphs vs. Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers
W D Mohammed has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. W D Mohammed will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 520th, while Atlanta Classical Academy is ranked 252nd).
On Tuesday, W D Mohammed came up short against Bowdon and fell 49-42.
Meanwhile, even though Southwest Atlanta Christian scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Atlanta Classical Academy still came out on top. Atlanta Classical Academy took their contest against Southwest Atlanta Christian 67-58.
Miller McGowan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. McGowan is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen McGowan, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
W D Mohammed has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Atlanta Classical Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything went W D Mohammed's way against Atlanta Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as W D Mohammed made off with a 71-49 win.
