Volleyball Recap: Sandia Gets the Win + How To Watch

Sandia's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past the Hope Christian Huskies 3-2. This was payback for the Matadors, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sandia was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-100), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 18-25, 16-14.

Sandia found their leader in sophomore Payton Ostrander, who had 13 digs and three aces. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Ostrander.

Sandia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Sandia's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hope Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

After both having extra time off, Sandia and St. Michael's will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. Hope Christian has already played their next match (against Rio Grande), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
