Baseball Recap: Thompson Comes Up Short

Thompson and Bob Jones squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Thompson had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat on Friday.

Thompson has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 30-15 record this season. As for Bob Jones, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-10 record this season.

Thompson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bob Jones, they will square off against Hewitt-Trussville on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.2, the Huskies 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
