Basketball Recap: Pike Valley Panthers vs. Rock Hills Grizzlies
Pike Valley lost to Rock Hills back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Pike Valley Panthers escaped with a win against the Rock Hills Grizzlies by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44.
Pike Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Cooper out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ezra Benne, who posted 16 points and seven boards.
Despite the defeat, Rock Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Whelchel almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Whelchel also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Camden Ward was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
