Baseball Recap: Desert Vista Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

While Desert Vista put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Chandler. The Desert Vista Thunder came out on top against the Chandler Wolves by a score of 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Thunder, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Desert Vista got a great performance from Brock MacDonald as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. What's more, MacDonald gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Desert Vista's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Noah Gutierrez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Gutierrez has posted since back in April of 2024. Anthony Renda also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Desert Vista's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Looking ahead, Desert Vista will host Cibola at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chandler, they will venture away from home to challenge Valley Vista at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
