Football Game Preview: Gloucester Dukes vs. Lafayette Rams + How To Watch

The Gloucester Dukes will face off against the Lafayette Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gloucester is looking for their season's first win.

Gloucester is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Poquoson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dukes had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Islanders. The Dukes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Meanwhile, Lafayette never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Jamestown 55-0. Considering the Rams have won five games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gloucester better keep an eye on Malieke Greenhow. He was instrumental in Lafayette's win, rushing for 147 yards and three TDs on only seven carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lafayette proved: they limited Jamestown to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Lafayette and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points in those games. As for Gloucester, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
