Baseball Recap: Tehachapi Comes Up Short

Tehachapi extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-3. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monache Marauders. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marauders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Monache, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

For Monache's part, they got a great performance from Adam Guerrero as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Guerrero has posted since back in February of 2025.

At the plate, Tyson Harrington was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tyson Chavez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tehachapi will be taking part in a tournament against Liberty at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Monache, they will take on Hanford West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
