Softball Recap: Kouts Takes a Loss

Kouts made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valparaiso, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs & Fillies fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs & Fillies have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Kouts saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Carden, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Carden has hit this season.

Kouts' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Valparaiso, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Kouts wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against North White on the 17th. As for Valparaiso, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Merrillville on the 15th.
